Worker injured after metal beam collapses on construction site

A collapse at a university construction site left a Pennsylvania worker injured. According to the report, the construction site accident occurred when a steel beam fell.

A spokesperson for the construction site stated that fifth floor connector failed, causing the steel beam to separate from the structure. The construction worker suffered an injury to his leg. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he was found to be in stable condition. The construction company responsible for the site shut down work at the location.

Construction workers often face severe injuries while they are working on the job. Because they are working around dangerous equipment, they may endure head and neck trauma, broken bones and back pain. These injuries may be so severe that they cannot work. In these instances, those who are injured may be entitled to compensation to help cover them financially while they recover.

In many of these cases, the insurance company that provides the workers' compensation may question the validity of the claim. They may deny the claim outright or provide the injured employee with less than what they need to get the medical care that they need and to cover their expenses.

An experienced Pennsylvania workers' compensation attorney may be able to help their injured client. They may be able to prove the extent of the victim's injury and the length of the estimated recovery time by using expert witness testimony from medical professionals. The attorney may be able to negotiate directly with the insurance company to maximize the amount of compensation that is awarded to the injured person. If the case does go to trial, the attorney may be able to provide a strong representation for their client.
