Pennsylvania worker killed by falling tree

Every year in Pennsylvania, countless accidents happen in the workplace, many of which leave employees seriously injured or worse. Unfortunately, no matter how careful you are, accidents can happen to anyone, especially if an adequate safety standard has not been maintained. As a result, workplace hazards often lead to devastating incidents, permanently changing the lives of their victims.

In one such case in Mercer County, a 45-year-old man has lost his life, after a tree fell on him close to Lake Latonka. The worker, who was from Carlton, had been hired to work near the lake, cutting down a number of trees. Sadly, the falling tree left him with serious injuries including blunt force head trauma. Although he was taken into medical care, he died the following day. The incident has been ruled as an accident.

Tragic events like this happen all too often, leaving families wondering where to turn and what to do next. Survivors may decide to file a wrongful death claim or pursue workers' compensation for their lost loved one. A successful claim can help cover the costs of funeral arrangements and medical bills. However, no amount of money can make up for the loss of someone you love.

If you have experienced a bereavement due to a workplace accident or you have been injured in the course of your employment, a compensation claim might be the next step forward. An attorney can advise you about whether this is the option for you and how to proceed with your claim. He or she may also be able to guide you through the legal process and help you secure the remuneration you deserve.
