Maintenance contractor dies in fall

Every year in Pennsylvania, workplace accidents leave workers with serious injuries or worse. Some of these incidents are pure misfortune and could not have been predicted. However, others are the result of inadequate workplace safety or other conditions that put employees at risk. If you feel that your workplace is unsafe, or you have any other concerns about working conditions, do not be afraid to report the matter and stand up for your right to a safe working environment.

In Allegheny County, medical professionals have scheduled an autopsy for a 44-year-old man who lost his life at a plant near Pittsburgh. The incident, which took place at a plant belonging to the United States Steel Corp, occurred when a contractor plummeted 40 feet or more. According to reports, the man was carrying out planned maintenance at the time.

OSHA is set to investigate the matter. However, this is routine practice when a fatal accident occurs within a place of work. An autopsy has been scheduled, but no further details have been given regarding the incident. No one else appears to have been injured during the accident.

Sadly, tragedies like this happen all too often, and families are left wondering how to move forward. A sudden bereavement can turn your life upside-down, and you may be unsure where to turn. One option is to file a wrongful death claim, to seek some justice for your loved one's death. A successful claim may also help to relieve some of the financial burden of your loss.

It may seem like a lot to think about at this difficult time, but an attorney can advise you about your options and may be able to support you through the legal process and help you pursue the compensation you deserve.
