Workplace accidents: Investigation underway following fatality

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration strives to establish guidelines that will help protect employees as they complete their job-related tasks. Despite the organization's efforts -- in combination with efforts of both employers and employees -- workplace accidents can still occur in Pennsylvania and in other areas of the country, creating havoc in the lives of workers and their families. Unfortunately, the family of one man in another state likely still has not fully realized the implications of their loved one's death.

The 47-year-old victim was an employee of an energy plant run by Diman Generating Corporation.  According to reports, he was working on a high pressure valve one morning on a day in early March. Unfortunately, the valve reportedly exploded.

Although emergency responders went to the scene, the man was pronounced dead. The incident remains under investigation. However, officials say that it has been ruled an industrial accident and do not suspect that suspicious circumstances contributed to the man's death.

When a loved one is lost unexpectedly in Pennsylvania, family members are often left struggling with loss and grief. Unfortunately, their situation is often complicated by funeral expenses and lost wages. While employers in all states are required to provide workers' compensation insurance coverage to help protect workers and their families in the aftermath of workplace accidents, many of these victims are unprepared for the compensation process. As a result, they seek guidance from a professional who has such experience with such issues in order to ensure they receive a fair settlement.
