Teenager severely injured in industrial accident

When working in an industrial setting in Pennsylvania, employees are often expected to fulfill a variety of different tasks. Some of these tasks could potentially result in an industrial accident. Such appears to be the case in a recent incident that occurred in another state and resulted in severe injuries to a teenager.

The teenager was working with a group of workers on a mobile conveyor belt at a metal fabrication business. According to witnesses, workers were attempting to repair the conveyor belt one morning on a day in March. They heated part of the metal to straighten a bent section of the framework.

Unfortunately, the entire conveyor belt collapsed, landing on the teenager's face and head. Although rescue workers were reportedly on scene within minutes, workers were able to remove the equipment before they arrived with a piece of machinery used for heavy lifting. Once stabilized, he was transported to the hospital where a trauma team was waiting.

A representative with the fire department claims that the teenager's injuries are both serious and extensive. As a result, he may need significant medical interventions to fully recover. Fortunately, workers' compensation insurance benefits should help him afford necessary medical treatment; however, many people are unaware of their rights in regards to these benefits and may worry that the insurance company will not treat them fairly. In Pennsylvania, many people injured in an industrial accident hire an experienced attorney to help them understand the process and seek the benefits that they deserve. With a such a professional on their side, they can focus on their overall recovery rather than how they will pay their medical bills.
