Industrial accident results in hospitalization of 4 workers

Even employers in Pennsylvania who go to great lengths to protect employees cannot completely eliminate the possibility that workers will be injured in an accident. Unfortunately, even a company that has reduced the overall number of injuries suffered over the last few years can still suffer as a result of an industrial accident. In fact, two workers at a work site located in another state are hospitalized as a result of injuries suffered at work.

The incident reportedly happened in late April. According to reports, an accident at a BP facility sent four people to the hospital. Two have been released while the remaining two are still in the hospital. The company has released very few details regarding the accident, reporting that an internal investigation is underway.

Although few details are available, the incident reportedly occurred at the facility's distribution power center. Reports indicate that distribution was not disrupted at the facility that supplies gas for seven states and produces 430,000 barrels per day. The company has been working toward reducing the number of industrial incidents at its location.

Unfortunately, even relatively minor care provided by a hospital can result in significant hospital bills. The workers who have been unable to work during their lengthy hospital stay may be wondering how they will cope with the financial ramifications of the industrial accident. Fortunately, they likely qualify for workers' compensation insurance benefits. Victims of industrial accidents in Pennsylvania who qualify for such benefits often seek help from an attorney with experience regarding the compensation process to guide them through it.
