Man suffers work-related injuries during fall

When most people in Pennsylvania think of dangerous occupations, they often think of police officers and firefighters who are often required to rush toward danger. Many may overlook the potential dangers that construction workers face as they complete their job-related tasks. Unfortunately, a construction worker in another state is currently recovering from work\-related injuries he suffered from a fall.

The incident happened at approximately 12 p.m. According to reports, the man was on the upper deck of a bridge when he fell 25 feet onto a lower deck. Rescue workers needed to cut a fence in order to help the man.

Reports indicate that the victim shattered both of his legs. One rescue worker claims that the man was in extreme pain and conscious but not alert. He was reportedly showing signs of shock. Paramedics transported the man to the hospital where he is listed in stable condition.

It is at times amazing what doctors can do for people suffering from serious injuries; however, treatments can often be lengthy and require an extensive recovery period. In some cases, a person who shatters their legs may be unable to return to work in the same capacity. Because the financial impact of medical expenses and lost wages can often be devastating, employers in Pennsylvania and across the country are required to provide workers' compensation insurance coverage for their employees. These benefits can help with many of the expenses stemming from an accident resulting in work-related injuries. An attorney with experience with such benefits can help these victims seek fair compensation.
