Police officer injured on the job

Most people in Pennsylvania are aware of the multiple risks that police officers face while the fulfill their job responsibilities. While interactions with dangerous criminals may be obvious risks, many officers are also injured on the job due to accidents involving routine training. Such appears to be the case in an incident that sent an officer to the hospital in another state.

The incident that led to the man's hospitalization reportedly occurred one afternoon on a day in late September. According to reports, the 35-year-old officer was on a motorcycle training ride on a highway. Unfortunately, it is believed that he lost control of the motorcycle, resulting in a crash.

The man, who has worked for the police department for 12 years, was airlifted to the hospital following the crash. Reports describe the injuries that he suffered in the incident as critical. The California Highway Patrol is still investigating the cause of the accident. No other vehicles were involved.

Reports indicate that the injured man is married with four children. Even in the best of circumstances, families can have difficulties making ends meet. However, an accident such as this often creates additional financial hardship as a result of medical expenses and lost wages. Because he was injured on the job, the man may qualify for workers' compensation insurance benefits. Those who deserve just benefits in Pennsylvania are often unfamiliar with the compensation process and may decide to ask for advice from an experienced professional in their pursuit of a fair settlement.
