Man suffers fatal work-related injuries in industrial accident

In the course of a work day, a worker in Pennsylvania may face many situations that have the potential of turning dangerous. Unfortunately, even when workers are aware of these risks and are safety-minded, they can still suffer from work-related injuries. In fact, reports from a neighboring state indicate that a man recently passed away after being involved in an industrial incident.

While the victim's identity was not immediately released following the accident, reports describe him as a 61-year-old man. According to reports, he was alone at TNT Landscaping and Excavation. He was reportedly performing maintenance on some equipment at the time of the incident.

An acquaintance of the man reportedly stopped by the work site. Unfortunately, he was discovered trapped in between two pieces of equipment. Though an autopsy has been scheduled, reports indicate that the man died instantly as a result of severe head trauma. The equipment has been impounded as part of the investigation.

Few families in Pennsylvania are prepared for the unexpected death of a loved one. Often such a loss creates financial complications that are difficult to manage. Because of the potential for work-related injuries, employers are required by law to provide workers' compensation insurance coverage to help workers financially in the event of a workplace accident. If the accident proves fatal, these benefits can extend to certain family members. An attorney with experience with the compensation process can help those grieving the unexpected loss of a loved one fully understand their rights as they seek fair compensation.
