Workplace accidents: Woman suffers head injury in fall

All workplaces hold some degree of risk. While most people are aware of the potential of being involved in workplace accidents, many in Pennsylvania may not fully understand the physical and financial harm they can create. In fact, a woman in another state recently suffered injuries during a fall at work.

The incident happened just before 7:30 a.m. on a morning in early May. The victim, a woman, is said to have been working at Advanced Disposal, a recycling facility. She was on a ladder when it was reportedly struck by a vehicle.

The collision caused the woman to fall from the ladder, approximately 10 feet. She was transported to the hospital by helicopter as a result of the injuries that she suffered to her head. Details of her condition following the incident were unknown. Emergency responders from multiple locations responded to the accident.

People can be affected by head injuries in a variety of different ways; for example, some people in Pennsylvania are often unable to work after such a fall. Medical bills, in combination with lost wages, can quickly become overwhelming. As a result, companies are required to provide workers' compensation insurance coverage, which can help those injured in workplace accidents cope with the costs associated with their injuries. Despite being entitled to such benefits, many people are unsure about the process, prompting them to ask for professional guidance as they seek fair compensation. Often, knowing that their financial situation is stable allows these victims to fully focus on their physical recovery.
