Man injured in Pittsburgh-area workplace accident

A man was injured when a pipe broke loose and fell on him. The accident happened at a company in Duquesne. Though it was not verified, it has been reported that this was not the first recent incident at the company.

According to authorities, employees were behind the business, moving large metal pipes. One of the pipes broke loose and landed on a worker, a man in his 30s. The pipe landed on the man's back and pinned him face-down onto the ground. Workers managed to move the pipe off the man, but he was seriously injured and taken to a local hospital.

Authorities reported that the worker's mother stated that the man would recover and that he suffered several broken ribs as a result of the accident. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration was conducting an investigation into the construction site accident.

When OSHA is called to the scene, they investigate the accident in conjunction with local authorities and any investigation the company might conduct. OSHA will examine the accident scene and speak to witnesses and others directly involved in the accident. The company's history of accidents will also be reviewed. If the company is found to be at fault for the accident, the company could be sanctioned.

The results of the investigations can have an impact on anyone who was injured. A worker who suffers an on-the-job injury has the right to pursue compensation for their injuries and any expenses that are directly related to the accident, especially when workers' compensation claims are denied.

Anyone who is considering seeking financial relief should consider speaking to a legal professional because the process can be complicated, and some companies are less willing to compensate injured workers than others. A legal professional can be just the asset an injured worker needs to get the compensation he or she deserves.
