Workplace accidents: Man flown to hospital

While all workplaces in Pennsylvania and across the country hold some degree of risk, those who work with machinery can easily suffer a serious injury. Regardless of the safety measures that are in place and the desire of employees to avoid injury, some workers can still fall victim to workplace accidents. Unfortunately, a Pennsylvania man recently injured his arm at work.

The incident happened at Wege Pretzel factory. The victim, whose name has not been released and is believed to be in his early 20s, was reportedly operating a flour mixer at the time. He allegedly reached into the machine to clear dust when his whole upper arm became entangled in the blade.

Rescue workers worked with factory employees to reverse the blade and extricate the man. He remained conscious during the procedure. Both his lower and upper portions of his arm were injured, and he was flown to the hospital.

Even the safest workers can fall victim to workplace accidents such as this. Often, victims face a long and difficult recovery, requiring extensive medical interventions. In some cases, those injured at work are unable to return to work in the same capacity. Fortunately, Pennsylvania requires employers to provide workers' compensation insurance benefits to help with the costs associated with such an accident. Because most victims want to fully focus on their recovery, many ask an experienced professional to help them as they seek compensation that is fair and ensures that they are able to fulfil their financial obligations, including medical bills.
