OSHA violations lead to workers' compensation claims

No one should have to worry about being injured on the job. Luckily, people in Pittsburgh and throughout Pennsylvania who are injured on the job through no fault of their own are eligible to file a workers' compensation claim. And despite some very biased surveys, it is unfortunately all too common for an employee to sustain work-related injuries if his or her company does not follow OSHA regulations.

Throughout the United States, the U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has a duty to keep workplaces, from office buildings to construction sites, safe for workers. Inspections of various types businesses are conducted all over the state all year long to check for violations. However, these types of inspections are especially likely to happen at workplaces in industries where employees are most often injured or turn up sick. If violations are uncovered in an inspection, the business can be fined and action must then be taken.
