Worker News Pittsburgh: The Soldiers & Sailors Museum

Soldiers and Sailors Museum

In this episode of Worker News Pittsburgh, we visit Soldiers and Sailors, a unique historic landmark right here in Pittsburgh. Serving as both a memorial and a museum, Soldiers and Sailors features over 100 years worth of donated artifacts dating as far back as the Civil War.

This tribute to servicemen and women captures a special piece of Pittsburgh and our region’s ties to the military.

While Soldiers and Sailors tells the story of Pittsburgh’s military past, there are thousands of veteran and active duty servicemen and women making history here in Pittsburgh today, with seven military posts calling Pittsburgh home, from the 911th Airlift Wing to the Navy Operational Center.

How has Pittsburgh’s military community impacted you? Are you active duty or perhaps a veteran working in the community? We’d love to hear your story!
