Icy conditions cause multiple Motor Vehicle Accidents Pittsburgh

Icy conditions causing Motor Vehicle Accidents ar pile ups and crashes in and around Pittsburgh last night and this morning. Dozens of Districts are delaying school starts due to slick roads. Pittsburgh Public Schools on a two hour delay. Some townships are low on salt and mixing salt with sand or only salting hills and intersections with stop signs.

The National Weather Forecast predicts a partly sunny day with a high of 28 degrees.

The Pittsburgh Post Gazette has reported some of the following Motor Vehicle Accidents:

Eight vehicles were reported stuck on ice in Beechview. Four on Bayonne, and Four on Fallowfield and Sebring.

A crash in Garfield was reported at North Matilda.

A city fire engine was involved in an auto accident with a pick up truck at 6th and Centre avenue.

One Port Authority Bus was stuck on ice in Highland Park and another in Downtown Pittsburgh. A tractor-trailer was stuck in McKees Rocks. A Pittsburgh garbage truck was involved in a car crash in Morningside-no injuries reported.

Drive safely and try to stay on main roads. Go slower at intersections and proceed with caution on hills.
